Zeiss Planetarium in Schwaz

A planetarium is a place to enjoy multimedia offerings, entertainment, culture and educational programs, all designed to provide something of interest for every type of person, age or profession. In contrast to an observatory, where the sky is observed through a telescope, in a planetarium, the sky is created artificially. This is done with the help of optical precision devices, a 360° video system, a refined sound system and effect-producing projectors in the projection dome, which spans a diameter of 8 metres. The daily and yearly movements of the stars and planets as well as other events taking place in our cosmos are depicted and explained in an air-conditioned domed room.
